Navicent Health partners with GE Healthcare on analytics for clinical and financial outcomes

The six-year shared risk initiative aims to harness technology to improve patient care and reduce costs under the ‘One Navicent Health’ continuum initiative.

GE Healthcare and Navicent Health in Macon, Georgia are partnering to improve healthcare delivery and lower the cost of care. The deal marks the sixth such shared-risk arrangement GE has forged with hospitals to offer consulting services, advanced analytics and technology. 

GE and Navicent will work together over the next six years to make system-wide improvements with the intent to create up to $150 million in savings. The organizations said they will build a “One Navicent Health” care continuum to deliver relevant care to its community.

To that end, GE and Navicent will work to improve patient flow and equip the care team with analytics that inform make real-time decisions that take clinical, financial and operational outcomes into account. 

“This is not a quick fix,” Navicent CEO Ninfa Saunders said in a statement. Instead, Saunders said that the initiative is “a steady and strategic approach to developing sustainable solutions that enhance the system.”

GE Managing Partner Helen Stewart added that hospitals face increasing cost pressures, workforce challenges and patient demands. 

“The future of healthcare is about recognizing the needs of the system, then aligning technologies, services, and activation of new methods to support the system,” Stewart said. 

GE has struck similar arrangements with Lifespan, Partners HealthCare and Jefferson Health, among others.
