Lovelace Health System has gone live with its new Epic system, with all hospitals and clinics are now using Epic for clinical applications, billing, scheduling, registration and more. It has also implemented Epic's MyChart patient portal, with an app patients can download to access their personal health information.

Lovelace Health System comprises Lovelace Medical Center, Heart Hospital of New Mexico at Lovelace Medical Center, Lovelace UNM Rehabilitation Hospital, Lovelace Women's Hospital, Lovelace Westside Hospital, Lovelace Regional Hospital-Roswell, and Lovelace Medical Group.

The group has been working since 2016 to transition to Epic, seeking to unify its hospitals and clinics on a single information-sharing platform.

"The team has been working diligently to prepare for this enhanced system,” said Ron Stern, CEO of Lovelace Health System, in a statement. "While it was a complex process, the benefits of Epic will improve the health of our patients while providing greater support to our clinical teams."

Lovelace is owned by Ardent Health Services and is the first Ardent system to go live with Epic. Two other Ardent organizations – BSA Health System in Amarillo, Texas and Hillcrest HealthCare System in Tulsa, Oklahoma – will launch their own Epic systems within the next six months, officials said.
