EHR incentive payouts climb
269,000 eligible professionals have registered for the CMS program
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Serives (CMS) has paid more than $9.3 billion in Medicare EHR Incentive Program payments between May 2011 and June 2013, according to the recent release of the latest program statistics.

More than $5.8 billion in Medicaid EHR Incentive Program payments have been made between January 2011 (when the first set of states launched their programs) and June 2013, CMS statistics show.
More than 405,000 eligible professionals, eligible hospitals, and critical access hospitals are registered in the Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs as of June 2013, agency officials announced.
In addition, more than 269,000 eligible professionals have registered for the Medicare EHR Incentive Program as of June 2013. More than 131,000 EPs have registered for the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program as of June 2013.
Since January 2011, 49 states have launched their Medicaid EHR Incentive programs, according to CMS.
