The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society's 2009 Annual Conference and Exhibition opened Sunday morning here in Chicago.
Attendance for the show, which this week took over the massive McCormick Place convention center, was estimated Sunday morning at 24,700.
Day one of the conference features e-sessions, education sessions and a keynote speech by celebrated actor Dennis Quaid on the topic of medical error and IT.
