Seeing how the Obama Administration has taken large strides in the realm of health IT – most notably establishing the EHR Incentive Program, which has ushered in a predominantly booming business environment – it may come as little surprise that the majority (67 percent) of health IT vendor campaign donations we examined, based on Federal Election Commission data, have gone to the Democratic Party.
Besides Faulkner and Tullman, other notable donors include Larry Renfro, CEO of Optum, who donated to both political parties; John Dineen, CEO of GE Healthcare; and Wyche Green, CEO of Greenway Medical Technologies, both of whom donated exclusively to the Republican Party.
