Lisa Gallagher, vice president of technology solutions, HIMSS North America, will serve as co-chair of the Health IT Standards Committee, a federal advisory panel that advises the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. Gallagher will serve with co-chair Arien Malec, VP, data platform and acquisition tools at RelayHealth. Gallagher and Malec succeed John Halamka, MD, the CIO of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, whose term will end in January 2016.

Jodi Daniel
Jodi G. Daniel, who most recently served as director at ONC's office of policy, has joined the Washington, DC-based Crowell & Moring law firm. Daniel will be part of the firm’s healthcare division, providing regulatory and legal advice to the group’s clients. Daniel announced she was stepping down from the ONC post, a position she held for the past 10 years, just this September. "Jodi literally wrote the book--and all the rules--governing health information technology, including the complex HIPAA privacy and enforcement rules," said John T. Brennan Jr., chair of the firm's healthcare group, in a statement.

Sparks Health System in Fort Smith, Arkansas, has hired Sashikanth "Sashi" Kodali, MD, as its new chief medical information officer. Kodali joins the health system after coming from Vidant Health System, where he served as medical director of informatics.
