The scene outside the Portland Expo was generally respectful and stable, but that's not to say there weren't some heated differences of opinion regarding healthcare reform.

Another issue voiced at the event was immigration reform, represented in signs and slogans carried by many of Portland's immigrant citizens. While cheering on Obama's arrival, the request was clear: Immigration reform should be next on his list.
Inside the event, Obama gave a rousing and oft-applauded speech, in which he extolled the positive effects of his reform law.
