Talking points:
- The complexity and rise of data in healthcare makes it ripe for disruption. But given the sensitive nature of the industry, the potential for impact to patient safety and care, and the importance of protecting privacy and safety, it’s important to do it right.
- Transformation in the workplace will be crucial for scaling responsibly, and after that’s done – real innovation begins. Organizations need to think about AI as a macro-level play with three key components: foundation, transformation and innovation.
- It's important responsible AI is not treated as an afterthought, rather something that should be prioritized and embedded at the start of an AI journey.
- By keeping responsible AI at the forefront and following best practices, companies can mitigate risk and biases, protect patient data and privacy, create explainable models, and maintain transparency in AI algorithms.
- If responsible AI is about building trust with AI systems and enabling sustained value from AI investments, how do provider organizations pull this off?
- Continual evaluation and improvement are important to make sure humans are always kept in the loop so people can evaluate the impact of AI systems and collect feedback.
