Georgia Hospital Association taps Clearwater to bolster cybersecurity
Georgia Hospital Association has partnered with Clearwater Compliance, a provider of hospital and health system compliance and cybersecurity management tools, to address cybersecurity vulnerabilities and educate its staff.
Clearwater was awarded the endorsement and preferred provider status by GHA under a multiyear agreement. The GHA-Clearwater partnership is just the latest creative collaboration between a statewide health system and a cybersecurity firm. Texas Hospital Association turned to a cybersecurity awareness program to help members strengthen anti-phishing efforts.

GHA consists of 170 membership hospitals throughout the state. Officials said that with the rise in healthcare breaches, the partnership will provide each of its hospitals with tools to combat cybersecurity flaws.
“Given its broad implications on both patient privacy and patient safety, cybersecurity has become a top priority for all Georgia hospitals,” GHA President Earl Rogers said in a statement.
With ransomware attacks continuing to target the industry through 2017 creative measures like the steps GHA is taking and the Texas Hospital Association’s work on phishing preparedness, will better prepare member organizations.
“Healthcare has been focused on compliance for a long time, but it’s not there for cybersecurity preparedness,” said THA chief digital officer Fernando Martinez.
