Iatric Systems unveils FlexButton for single sign-on
Iatric Systems released a software application that brings together disparate patient data into one electronic health record (EHR) so that providers have a more complete and accessible view.
The app, called FlexButton, is presented through links to patient screens on other systems, pulling data from those into the a variety of EHR systems.
FlexButton can alert clinicians to key patient information in various healthcare IT systems and brings it into the EHR workflow, allowing clinicians to avoid managing multiple sign-ons and passwords or re-authenticating when accessing third-party solutions from within the EHR.
Iatric Systems president Frank Fortner said there are many possibilities for leveraging FlexButton.
“The number of technologies hospitals and clinicians rely on to streamline workflows and improve care outcomes has exploded, creating data silos,” Fortner said. “It’s challenging for clinicians to access this data easily, yet it’s critical for patient care.”
Ephraim McDowell Health, in Danville, Kentucky, is an early adopter of FlexButton.
Becky Blevins, IS project manager at the 222-bed hospital, said that FlexButton gives clinicians “the ability to see patient data and images for a specific Medical Record Number residing in other systems right from our EHR.”
Blevins said the provider’s clinicians save time by not having to exit the EHR and log in to another system and search for that MRN which, in turn, enables them to more effectively continue treating patients.
