Epic CEO Judy Faulkner one of 5 tech women on Forbes list of richest

The remainder of the 100 wealthiest technology leaders worldwide are men.

Epic Systems founder and CEO Judy Faulkner is among the five women in technology to make it on the Forbes list of the 100 Richest Tech Billionaires in 2016.

To point out the obvious: The remaining 95 of the billionaires on the list are men.

Faulkner is No. 79 on the list. Aho Qunfei is at No. 33, Denise Coates at 52, Lam Wai Ying at No. 67 and Meg Whitman at 93.

Forbes assigns Faulkner's net worth at $2 billion. She has joined other billionaires – Warren Buffet and Bill and Melinda Gates among them, in taking the Giving Pledge, committing to dedicate 99 percent of her wealth to philanthropy.

Qunfei, a former factory worker, owns the majority of Lens Technology, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of screens for mobile phones and tablets. Her estimated net worth, according to Forbes, is $6.4 billion.

Coates is founder of online gambling firm Bet365. Her estimated financial worth is $3.8 billion.

Ying’s fortune derives from supplying touch screens for Apple phones. Estimated net worth is $3 billion.

Whitman made her fortune running tech companies, including Hasbro, Walt Disney, eBay and Hewlett-Packard. A longime Republican donor (and sometime Republican candidate), she announced this past week that she would endorse Hillary Clinton and donate a "substantial" amount to help defeat GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.
