Covenant Health selects Cerner for clinical, revenue cycle and population health software
Covenant Health announced that it will implement Cerner software to support clinical, financial and population health management initiatives.
Cerner will provide clinical and financial infrastructure, processes and workflows across Covenant Health’s 10 hospitals, 100 ambulatory facilities and nearly 1,500 affiliated physicians.
To that end, the Cerner software will enable Covenant to offer patients a portal for accessing personal health information and scheduling appointments as well as a single bill paying system that spans all Covenant doctors and facilities.
Covenant Health will also roll out Cerner’s population health platform HealtheIntent, which aggregates data from multiple sources into a single patient record.
“We are increasingly focused on keeping our patient population healthy by proactively identifying risks and intervening early beyond the four walls of the hospital,” Mandy Grubb Halford, MD, system medical director of clinical documentation and informatics at Covenant Health, said in a statement. “With HealtheIntent, we will be able to use clinical information to develop actionable insights to help us better manage care and outcomes.”
Covenant CEO Jim VanderSteeg added that the system also took into account Cerner’s predicted total cost-of-ownership and the vendor’s ability to support multiple aspects of Covenant’s operations.
