Consulting and research firm Input has hired Elizabeth Cusick, former deputy director of the Center for Medicare Management, to bring her perspective to bear on health information technology.

"Elizabeth's 30 years of federal program experience will provide Input members with extensive insights into government programs, especially as they relate to the upcoming changes expected as the nation's health IT initiatives move forward," said Bill Bain, senior vice president of consulting at Input, in a written statement.

The center is an operating unit of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Cusick's responsibilities there included payment policy and operation of the Medicare fee-for-service program.

She has served in other executive positions at the Department of Health and Human Services, including chief financial officer at the Office of Communications and Operations Support and director of the Health Benefits and Income Support Division.
