Northrop Grumman to continue AHLTA support
The Military Health System has awarded Northrop Grumman a $67.7 million follow-on contract for continued support of the Defense Department's Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA) electronic health record system, the company said.
Northrop Grumman said that under the eight-month contract, which has two one-year options it will provide security accreditation and information assurance, management information services, commercial-product monitoring, and configuration management for AHLTA.
AHLTA is the standard outpatient EHR for 9.2 million active-duty and retired service members and was developed under a contract with Integic, which Northrop Grumman acquired in 2005.
In January, DOD and the Department of Veterans Affairs said they plan to jointly develop an inpatient EHR.
