HTC Global to expand reach with CareTech

Two Michigan IT entities join forces

IT company HTC Global Services has acquired CareTech Solutions, an IT and Web products and services provider for U.S. hospitals and healthcare systems. Both companies are headquartered in Troy, Michigan.

The terms of the deal were not released.

"This acquisition is an integral part of our strategy of exponential growth in our chosen areas of IT competencies," said Madhava Reddy, president and CEO of HTC Global Services, in a press statement.

Reddy, who will take on the role of chairman at CareTech, said CareTech would retain its brand name and operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of HTC under its existing leadership team.

"The addition of a successful company like CareTech, which provides focused IT services and solutions to the healthcare industry, expands our footprint in the USA and allows us to strengthen and broaden our range of service offerings," Reddy said in announcing the deal. "This is an excellent opportunity to increase job opportunities in Michigan and to expand our services globally."

Jim Giordano will continue to lead CareTech as its president and CEO.

"CareTech and HTC share the same values, culture and commitment to customer service that helped rank CareTech as an industry leader," said Giordano. "I am confident that the combination of our two companies will further strengthen our value proposition, providing additional services for our customers and new opportunities for our employees. This is an exciting time for all of us," he added.

HTC Global was formed in 1990. It bills itself as one of the fasting growing privately held companies in Michigan, offices in several countries and global delivery centers in North America, India and Malaysia. It employs more than 6,500 people.

CareTech Solutions provides customized IT and Web products and services to U.S. hospitals and health systems. It has more than 1,200 employees. CareTech services include IT outsourcing, IT monitoring, data centeer services and disaster recovery.
