The American Health Information Association (AHIMA) has released new ICD-10-CM/PCS online coder training courses.  The two course collections are designed to help health information management (HIM) professionals prepare for the ICD-10 transition.

AHIMA officials call the courses the cornerstone to AHIMA’s ICD-10 Online Coder Training Programs.

The ICD-10-CM Coding: Online Course Collection includes the ICD-10-CM Overview: Deciphering the Code course plus 22 individual one-hour courses focused on the specific chapters of ICD-10-CM.
 
Also available is the ICD-10-PCS Coding: Online Course Collection, developed to prepare acute care coders for ICD-10-PCS coding. The courses review ICD-10-PCS organization and guidelines and provide case scenarios to accurately assign ICD-10-PCS codes. In addition to the ICD-10-PCS Overview: Deciphering the Code course, this 23-hour collection includes 10 shorter courses focused on the root operations and medical and surgical-related procedures of ICD-10-PCS.
 
Registration before November 1 retains access to all course material through 2014.
 
These online training courses are in addition to AHIMA’s popular and successful -in-person ICD-10 Training Academies and the new Coder Workforce training.
