Thomson Reuters recently released its annual list of the top 100 hospitals in the U.S. This slideshow recognizes the Everest Award winners, those hospitals among the top 100 that demonstrated the greatest rate of improvement over five years.
A 793-bed teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital has inpatient and outpatient services, neighborhood primary care health centers and diagnostic and treatment technologies and research labs. Northwestern Memorial comprises 894 beds and is the primary teaching hospital for Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. The hospital is noted for its widespread use of information technology and wireless applications.
An electronic network connects the eight hospitals and 38 health centers within Ochsner Health System. Electronic medical records are available from any Ochsner location, for consistent patient care.
Augusta Health is a 255-bed nonprofit community hospital in the Shenandoah Valley. It is the only Virginia hospital to make the list of top 100 hospitals this year.
A not-for-profit, acute care hospital, Russell Medical Center serves Central Alabama. The hospital boasts state-of-the-art imaging services, digital mammography, PACS and online services for patients.
St. Joseph Health System includes the flagship St. Joseph Hospital, as well as specialty clinics throughout the area of Northeast Michigan. St. Joseph is noted for its use of technology such as PACS and a 64-slice Cardiac CT Scanner.
