Patient Placement Systems of Atlanta has announced a partnership with Qtrac Software, an Indianapolis-based provider of admissions automation and clinical management software for long-term care, to help long-term care facilities accelerate patient admissions and create electronic health records through the use of the PatientPlacement.com Referral Management System.

LodgeNet Healthcare of Sioux Falls, S.D. has announced a deal with Brigham and Women's Hospital of Boston to implement the LodgeNetRX Interactive Patient Television System for more than 700 patient beds in the hospital. The system will include on-demand videos and music and a patient education management system to be run in conjunction with Patient Edu, LLC.

Health Care Compliance Strategies, Inc. (HCCS) of Jericho, N.Y. has announced an exclusive partnership with the Healthcare Academy to deliver a library of 60 patient care and OSHA online training courses designed to meet the needs of all staff members at acute care facilities.

Omnicell, Inc. of Mountain View, Calif. has unveiled the medical grade wireless Supply Mobile Cart, designed to allow clinicians to access specialty supplies quickly, securely and efficiently from any location at any time. In addition, the company has announced the successful installation at St. Patrick Hospital and Health Sciences in Missoula, Mont. of an interface between the hospital's Omnicell OptiFlex CL system and its Philips Series IV physiomonitoring and information system.

Medifico, Inc. of Lancaster, Pa. has entered into talks with the Dow Chemical Company, whose Healthcare and Wellness Division has expressed an interest in distributing the company's Brainvue-TCD units to emerging countries.

Hyland Software and Milwaukee-based Teramedica Healthcare Technology have announced a partnership to integrate Hyland's OnBase enterprise content management (ECM) platform with TeraMedica's Evercore solution, allowing physicians to instantly access medical images such as X-rays and MRI scans or cardiology exams, as well as other types of clinical digital content such as electronic reports.

Henry Schein Medical Systems, a Boardman, Ohio-based provider of practice management and electronic medical records systems, has released MicroMD EMR version 6.0, which is designed to enhance the physician experience by improving existing workflows and streamlining access to patient information.

McKesson has acquired EN-Chart Scanning Program, LLC, a Dandridge, Tenn.-based provider of computer-assisted facility coding and compliance solutions for emergency department visits. EN-Chart solutions can be used as a stand-alone or integrated with McKesson's Horizon Emergency Care ED solution.

Dell, based in Round Rock, Texas, has launched the Dell Latitude XT, described as the industry's first convertible tablet with multi-touch capabilities. The company is also expanding its SSD services with the availability of a 128 GB drive and will soon announce its next generation of Latitude laptops.
