The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' Office for Enterprise Development is implementing technology from Arlington, Va.-based ICOR Partners to boost program management and integration.

Under the contract, ICOR will provide Cross Program Integration, Integrated Program Planning and Program Executive Office support to further the VA's objective of transforming service to veterans through sustaining and modernizing its information technology.

"I am fully committed to fulfilling President Obama's vision for transforming our department so that it will be well-positioned to perform this duty even better during the 21st Century," said Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki, in an open letter to veterans.

"Creating that vision for transforming the VA into a 21st Century organization requires a comprehensive review of our department. We approach that review understanding that veterans are central to everything VA does. We know that results count, that the department will be measured by what we do, not what we promise, and that our best days as an organization supporting veterans are ahead of us."

ICOR will develop the multi-year plan to architect, prioritize, sequence and govern the modernization of VA technology, including the development of the VA IT Integrated Program Plan. The VA IPP functions to integrate cost, schedule, and resource estimates with the high-level enterprise and technical architecture specifications for sustaining the VistA medical network and implementing the new technology platform, called HealtheVet.

"ICOR is proud to continue supporting VA's drive to modernize the medical information technology that plays a key role in enabling healthcare services to veterans. We look forward to supporting the VA with our expertise in IT portfolio management, program management and advanced project controls," said Ronald Lambo, the ICOR managing director responsible for VA.
