Royal Philips, a healthcare technology giant, today at HIMSS22 has unveiled its latest analytics and interoperability technologies.

Philips HealthSuite Interoperability is a fully integrated, cloud-enabled health IT platform to meet diverse workflow needs across the imaging enterprise. Philips Enterprise Performance Analytics – Performance Bridge now provides operational insights and deep analytics beyond radiology to the cardiology department to enhance efficiencies and help improve effectiveness at the point of care.

Continuous performance improvement

Both are part of Philips' Data Management and Interoperability Solutions portfolio, an integrated, scalable suite of technology, analytics and professional services designed to support healthcare providers to continuously improve performance.

"Building on our deep expertise in medical imaging and insights in enterprise informatics, this latest expansion of our Data Management and Interoperability Solutions portfolio will help drive sustainable change across imaging departments with enhanced efficiency and improved outcomes for patients and staff," said Kees Wesdorp, chief business leader of precision diagnosis at Philips.

"At HIMSS22, we will showcase a highly customizable set of data-driven solutions, delivering continuous improvement to meet clinical and business performance metrics with real-time insights."

With these newest enhancements, cardiology departments now have access to critical metrics to support operational performance monitoring in an invasive procedural setting such as the interventional suite, providing data on procedure volumes, room utilization, procedure duration and lab turnaround time, the company said.

Automating radiology tasks

Also at the exhibition, Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas is introducing new features of its Exa Platform that automate common clinical and administrative tasks, with the aim of enabling radiology departments and practices to enhance staff productivity, improve reimbursement and capture non-covered costs.

The Exa Platform comprises multiple modules, including RIS, PACS, billing and specialty viewers across a shared database that can be used individually or together for complete enterprise imaging.

The Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services will mandate use of a clinical decision support mechanism, a tool that communicates appropriate use criteria for advanced diagnostic imaging, beginning January 1, 2023.

Integrated into the Exa Platform, the new tool provides appropriate use criteria information to the ordering clinician and assists them in making the most appropriate treatment decision for a patient's specific clinical condition. Orders placed through the Exa Physician Portal will automatically be validated electronically.
