NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital takes recruitment online
NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, an academic medical institution and the nation's largest nonprofit, non-sectarian hospital, has developed and launched a Web site that aims to improve the process of obtaining employment in the healthcare field.
With 16,000 employees, NewYork-Presbyterian is one of New York City's largest employers. The Hospital hired 1,918 new employees in 2009, including 658 new nurses, and expects to hire more than 1,900 employees in 2010.
"Jobseekers today are motivated to change jobs when they understand the culture of an organization and know something about their potential co-workers," says G. Thomas Ferguson, senior vice president and chief human resources officer at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. "This Web site aims to revitalize the job search process, targeting talented and motivated individuals in the city and beyond."
The site provides a customizable display of a wide range of career options specific to the medical field. It also showcases videos detailing the experiences of employees in diverse positions from all five hospital campuses in Manhattan and Westchester. The site emphasizes the field of nursing, with specific options for graduates from NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
The combination of useful data on job opportunities combined with the personal experiences of people in the medical field should provide a useful resource for those looking to find employment in the New York City area.
