Imprivata taps Aaron Miri as its new chief information officer
Aaron Miri, who most recently served as chief information officer at Dallas-based Walnut Hill Medical Center, has taken a job as CIO at Imprivata, the healthcare security company.
As CIO, Miri helped guide Walnut Hill – called "The Hospital Steve Jobs Would have Built" by Forbes – to Stage 6 on the HIMSS EMR Adoption Model. At Imprivata, he'll be responsible for the development and implementation of the company's strategic IT initiatives. He'll also serve as a thought leader on behalf of the company, helping promote policies that support cybersecurity and interoperability, officials said.

The healthcare industry is currently battling a "security epidemic," Miri said in a statement. "I am thrilled to join a team of passionate professionals who are working toward a mission-oriented goal of combatting healthcare hacks, especially in a time when the industry has never been more vulnerable."
At HIMSS16 in Las Vegas this past March, Miri spoke with Healthcare IT News about the ways he was using Imprivata's security technologies at Walnut Hill:
