Cutting Edge Health Technology Compliance Issues: The Double-Edged Sword
This session will discuss being compliant with cloud computing in terms of data analytics and telehealth, as well as the 21st Century Cures Act, medical device security, hacking, protected health information in the software-as-a-service model, including a look at the Health and Human Services guidance. In the opening keynote of HIMSS18, Eric Schmidt, Technical Advisor and former Executive Chairman of Alphabet (parent company of Google), will discuss the promise and untapped potential for fighting disease and improving health. Schmidt will also share his perspective as a technology veteran about what can be done to speed up progress toward putting technology to its best use to make life better for people all over the planet.

HIPAA Compliance and the Public Cloud at John Muir
