HIMSS17 Social Media Ambassador Danielle Siarri: Nursing informatics specialist who plays jazz and classical saxophone
Danielle Siarri is a nursing informatics specialist, the author of innonurse, and she can be found on Twitter as @innonurse.
Healthcare IT News queried Siarri to find out three things her social media followers might not already know about here, how her health IT hero is, and what’s she’s most excited about at the upcoming conference.
Q: Who's your favorite healthcare hero? Why?
A: UPMC’s Andrew Watson, who famously stated: "in the future, telemedicine will just be medicine.” I am looking forward to that day.
Q: What's your pet peeve? (Either on- or off-line?)
A: When someone is not willing to invest time in a student or recent graduate.
Q: What is something your social media followers do not know about you?
A: My followers may not know that I play the alto saxophone (both classical and jazz). I am an avid traveler, and have visited over 20 countries and lived in Montreal, outside Paris and currently in the USA. My favorite places to visit include Italy, France, Switzerland, Spain and Denmark.
Q: What issues do you think are top-of-mind for your social media followers?
A: Many of my followers are interested in turning wearable data into usable information for their primary care providers. A big concern is cybersecurity on standalone medical devices.
Q: What are you most looking forward to at HIMSS17?
A: I am excited for this journey. The keynote speaker, IBM’s CEO Ginni Rometty, will speak on future roles in cloud computing. This should be quite insightful.
