HIMSS17 HX360 Innovation Zone: Emerging technologies on tap
It’s always fun to learn about emerging technologies. But it’s even more fun to play with new technologies.
That’s what attendees at HIMSS17 will be able to do when they visit the HX360 Innovation Zone, an exhibit that brings together more than 100 startups, accelerators and growth-stage companies with hands-on, interactive exhibits designed to showcase emerging healthcare technologies. This will be the third annual HIMSS conference featuring this showcase for healthcare technology innovation.
“The HX360 Innovation Zone is very interactive, with numerous opportunities for attendees to engage with products that represent the next phase of healthcare IT,” said Elli Riley, senior director of exhibits and meeting services for HIMSS North America. “These are disruptive products that will be on the market soon that could really change the healthcare industry.”
This year the HX360 Innovation Zone debuts a new feature called The Innovation Makerspace, which provides attendees with tools to experiment with technology while talking with industry experts.
HX360 Innovation Zone, which Riley said is sponsored by Salesforce.com, also features Launch Pad, where vendors will share new products and services set to launch this year.
“These interactive presentations are really to provide attendees with a snapshot and then go have the conversations with the companies at their space within the booth,” Riley said.
Leading companies working on new technologies will share their work through demonstrations and interactive events at a feature called “Accelerators.”
“Companies such as Texas Medical Center will talk about the new product their organization is incubating or accelerating to the market,” she added.
HX360 Innovation Zone offers more than three dozen 20-minute sessions through a feature called Innovation Live in the exhibit’s presentation theater. These micro-sessions focus on case studies and success stories about emerging or recently released healthcare technology.
“It’s a great combination of industry experts and exhibition companies that are bringing their clients to talk about their latest technologies,” Riley added. “These are true startups, with different types of products from chatbots to remote connected care and so much more.”
There will be more than 60 companies in this year’s Startup Showcase, with a wide variety of disruptive technology.
HIMSS17 runs from Feb. 19-23, 2017 at the Orange County Convention Center.
