The transition to value-based payment models from traditional fee-for-service is pressuring healthcare providers to adapt their business processes, care delivery decisions, and infrastructure needs.

This has created unprecedented provider demand for information, transparency, data management, data utilization, and analytics to enable this transformation. Thus it has become essential for providers to optimize clinical and business intelligence (C&BI) tools and technologies to support both clinical and financial processes and an informed business intelligence strategy.

Attendees at HIMSS17 in Orlando will have an opportunity to learn from and engage with industry leaders and peers regarding their C&BI challenges and successes at the Clinical & Business Intelligence Knowledge Center on the show floor.

“It’s almost impossible for healthcare delivery organizations to do business these days without those critical competencies,” says Shelley Price, Payer and Life Sciences Director for HIMSS North America. “Clinical and business intelligence can unlock critical information to help providers not just succeed, but really thrive in a changing environment.”

The C&BI Knowledge Center will feature representatives from C&BI IT solution suppliers who can discuss technologies and strategies that help providers optimize efficiency and effectiveness to deliver better patient and financial outcomes.

In addition, more than 20 half-hour education sessions are scheduled to be presented in the exhibit’s theater from Monday morning through Wednesday afternoon. HIMSS17 also will offer attendees a one-day preconference education event titled “Business of Healthcare Symposium: Succeeding in a Value-Based World,” on Sunday (February 19) from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Cost is $335. This symposium features six 30-minute presentations.

Finally, there will be an invitation-only reception at the C&BI Knowledge Center on Tuesday, February 21, from 6 to 7 p.m. EST. Invitees can network with peers and share C&BI best practices, pain points, and successes.

The C&BI Knowledge Center will in Booth 6779.

HIMSS17 runs from Feb. 19-23, 2017 at the Orange County Convention Center.
