"It's important to remember that automating manual tasks saves hospitals massive amounts of time, and we have found that rather than eliminate positions, hospitals redirect those employees to tasks that require judgment and human interaction," Mayer said.
Job seekers should highlight how they can contribute in these areas, she said. Mayer pointed out that all healthcare job seekers should realize that they would be interacting with IT in some capacity.
"Given the priorities of the new Administration with respect to healthcare, that is likely to have even greater significance," she said.
