The investment will enable LOGEX to further develop its software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions to enable connectivity among European healthcare providers and introduce its innovative technologies to new markets.

"Our team is working on perfecting SaaS solutions that help hospitals all over Europe to connect to each other and to useful information," said LOGEX CEO, Philipp Jan Flach.

"The ultimate goal is to allow all European healthcare providers to benefit from the actionable insights that data can provide, so the treatment of European patients can improve, without the cost of care increasing."

LOGEX, founded in 2008, states that its mission is to turn data into better healthcare. The company offers software solutions and expert consultancy services that provide healthcare providers with insights into costs, treatment pathways, and clinical outcomes, along with digital tools to enhance the patient journey.

According to Flach, who is also a trained clinician, one of the main challenges in European healthcare is the unwarranted variations in treatments and outcomes across different countries. He believes this variation is often caused by a lack of convincing insights into the effectiveness of specific treatments.

"When international sharing of real-world data becomes the norm, that real-world evidence will be far more compelling thanks to a far greater volume of input data" explained Flach.

The challenges of a fragmented market

The European healthcare market is complex and fragmented, with diverse delivery models, reimbursement strategies, data formats, and regulations in each country.

“Setting up international projects is no easy feat, let alone building a uniform international framework that allows for systematic, ongoing collaboration," continued Flach.

LOGEX believes that technology can play a crucial role in overcoming some of these challenges. The recent investment from Thoma Bravo will help the firm achieve its vision of enabling all European healthcare providers to benefit from data-driven insights and drive improvements in patient care.

Exporting best practices

Currently operating in 10 European markets, LOGEX has gained an international perspective on the value of interoperability and collaboration in healthcare.

"LOGEX knows what all the best parts are of the NHS, the social care and healthcare system of Finland, the regional approach of Sweden, and the focus on appropriate care in the Netherlands, to name just a few," said Flach. “Many of the best ideas are exportable. This gives us the opportunity to play a role in helping healthcare providers adopt international healthcare best practices.”

With its software solutions, expert consultancy, and international perspective, LOGEX aims to overcome the challenges of fragmentation in the European healthcare market and drive positive change.

LOGEX will be exhibiting at HIMSS Europe in Lisbon this coming June. For more information about the company, please visit logex.com
