Canadian clinic makes personal health data available to patients
The Amari Medical Clinic and Integrated Health Centre in Surrey, B.C. has tapped Cloud Practice Inc., to make test results, appointments, and healthcare states available to patients. Patients will be able to integrate their health data with their mobile devices.
Cloud Practice installed the myOSCAR personal health record (PHR) system at Amari Clinic. myOSCAR is an online healthcare management tool enables sharing of patient information from a physician’s electronic medical record (EMR), the OSCAR system. The tool allows patients to send messages to their doctors, make appointments and fill out forms.
"Our practice adopted myOSCAR with the goal of providing our patients a consolidated health record for easier access to all of their important medical data, and to streamline communication with our medical team," said Sachit Shah, MD, a family physician at Amari Clinic.
To ensure data security, myOSCAR uses a multi-level security model that encrypts each record. Patients have full control over who has permission to view their information and the level of authorization each user has.
