Healthcare ICT provider Ascom has bagged another contract to install a communication solution in Indonesia. 

Through its installation partner Sarana Medical, the company will bring its Telligence Nurse Call system to Mayapada Healthcare's hospitals in Surabaya and Tangerang. 

WHY IT MATTERS

Mayapada Healthcare CEO Jonathan Tahir said their hospitals prioritise convenience and good communication between patients and medical workers. That is why Ascom aims to "optimise care and communication" in the two Mayapada hospital units.

"The new communication solution system will assist with managing tasks. Staff can answer calls, set service task reminders, upgrade events, and generally enhance communications within the facility," Tahir said.

Commenting on their new contract, Ascom Asia Head Martin Johansson said: "Securing this key contract for us illustrates that the ecosystem of Ascom Telligence is perfectly suited to the Indonesian market. Ascom Telligence will give clinicians point-of-care access and clinical information available when and where it is needed."

THE LARGER CONTEXT

This announcement follows Ascom's latest installation in China. Recently, it secured a multi-million US dollar contract to install its Telligence Nurse Call solution in an undisclosed hospital in the Macao Special Administrative Region. 

Ascom Telligence, which can be a standalone nurse call system or an integrated end-to-end patient response solution, provides a comprehensive view of a patient's status, leveraging nurse call infrastructure that is enhanced with communication and documentation tools. 

Previously, the company told HealthcareIT News that it plans to bring this solution to more Southeast Asian locations and to Australia in the coming months.
