Australian aged care provider Apollo Care has tapped Rauland Australia to deliver nurse call solutions at its Queensland sites.
Rauland's Responder nurse call solutions will be adopted in three Apollo sites in Maryborough and Rockhampton, according to a media release.
WHY IT MATTERS
Apollo intends to increase the mobility of its care team when responding to residents, liaising with other staff and accessing documentation. Smart mobile devices, a part of the nurse call package, use 4D radar technology and can distribute services via an app interface. The direct speech pathway feature from these devices will also cut response times.
Apollo also chose Rauland due to its IP-based architecture that provides different integration benefits. COO Barry Ashcroft mentioned that the Rauland mobile devices and data reporting "all feed into our current IT system". The service pulls data from the Apollo sites into a consolidated area for review.
Moreover, resident safety monitoring will be pre-wired to soon provide round the clock discrete monitoring for falls. Ashcroft emphasised the importance of leveraging off resident monitoring with voice activation services at all bedsides through call points. The solution can be easily upgraded or replaced at new sites, "ensuring the same solution is available across all sites," he said.
THE LARGER TREND
Gold Coast Health, another healthcare provider in Queensland, has also recently rolled out Rauland's technology on its premises. It has set up a bedside terminal solution under the Rauland Concierge package to minimise physical interactions in its COVID-19 ward.
ON THE RECORD
"Apollo Care’s purpose is to support older Australians to live their way with grace and dignity. Investment in technology is a critical part of this delivery. By improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our care teams, we can free up more time for them to focus on what’s most important, caring for residents," said Ashcroft of Apollo.
