Health ICT solutions provider Ascom is promoting Roberto Lozada to the role of country manager for its Australia and New Zealand Region business.

Currently the head of Ascom ANZ sales, Lozada brings "a wealth of international experience in sales, marketing, and general management, with a strong track record of developing and transforming businesses with a clear focus on delivering results," the company noted in a statement.

Before joining Ascom, he served as general manager of 3M's Health Care business and was a senior business director at Medtronic's Neurosciences group.

THE LARGER CONTEXT

Lozada will be replacing David William, who assumed the country manager role at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

During his tenure, William oversaw some breakthrough sales of Ascom's latest offerings in ANZ, including the Telligence Patient Response System and Ascom Digistat, which saw the first implementation in a specialist paediatric ICU. Notable implementations of Ascom technology were also done in residential aged care facilities, including AnglicareSA and Baptcare. A complete nurse call replacement with Ascom was also undertaken at St Vincent’s Health in Sydney.

William is set to retire by the end of the year.

Speaking about Lozada's appointment, William said: "I strongly believe he is the right person to lead Ascom forward and to continue to build on the strong history and performance of the business as it continues to build its position as a leading provider of software solution-driven technologies."

"He is a proven performer with strong experience leading technology-based organisations supporting and servicing the healthcare space," he added.

ON THE RECORD

"My goal is to continue our trajectory as a solution provider for device integration, clinical software, and advanced nurse call systems while providing world-class mobility and duress solutions to customers across the acute care, aged care, and enterprise sectors," Lozada said about his promotion.
