Within a report on health information exchange (HIE) that consultancy Black Book is slated to publish tomorrow, the firm ranked technology vendors.
Based on its poll of 1,550 providers and 794 payers, Black Book listed “current users five HIT vendors as top performers in their specialty theatres of engagement.”
Indeed, sitting atop the categories outlined below are:
Covisint – Payer-Centric HIEs
ICA –Core HIEs Systems
Infor (formerly Lawson) – Complex Data, Multi-organizational HIEs
Cerner – Inpatient EHR/HIEs
dbMotion Allscripts – Ambulatory EHR/HIE’s
“Other vendors receiving top honors in specific key performance indicators were: Aetna Medicity, Alere, Availity, Caradigm, GSI Healthcare, Intersystems, McKesson RelayHealth, Optuminsight, and Oracle,” Black Book explained in a prepared statement.
The survey results that Black Book said it will circulate on Tuesday go beyond ranking vendors and, in fact, spotlight what the firm sees as a trend away from public health information exchanges toward private HIEs — that charge being lead by payers but also considered by 33 percent of health networks.
