Microsoft presents Health Innovation Awards at HIMSS16
LAS VEGAS - Microsoft kicked off its Health Forum at HIMSS16 with the announcement that it now has 10,000 members. The celebratory mood continued with an award ceremony, honoring Microsoft partners who had won Microsoft Health Innovation Awards.
The awards, which were chosen by an independent panel of judges, recognize the work of health organizations and their technology solution partners who are using Microsoft technology to improve healthcare for patients and communities.

Here are the winners in each category:
Open Innovation: Montecatone Rehabilitation Institute and Braincontrol by Liquidweb for a technology that gives disabled people the ability to control objects with their minds. It works like a "mental joystick," allowing patients suffering from pathologies such as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Multiple Sclerosis and tetraplegia to overcome physical and communicative disabilities.
Building the Intelligent Cloud: There were two winners in this category. Primary Health Medical Group and Proskriptive for a solution that blended EMR with claims data to provide a single unified patient view, allowing Primary Health to better manage cost and quality. West Ridge Ob-Gyn and Patient identification Platform won for a solution that automates patient matching for clinical trial participation and securely de-identifies and aggregates EHR data (demographic, lab, genomic, procedure, diagnosis, etc) so that clinical trial protocols can be automatically processed.
Creating More Personal Computing: Tribridge and Dartmouth-Hitchcock for a solution that delivers personalized, coordinated care, using Health360, a consumer-centered, cloud solution.
Reinventing Productivity & Business Processes: There were two winners in this category. Health Catalyst and Partners HealthCare for an analytics platform enabling big-picture and detailed views into the cost of all aspects of care related to a particular clinical event. And Apollo Hospitals for an analytics solution consuming clinical big data on disease and infection surveillance and delivering clinical decision support in near real time.
