Utah hospital rolls out open-source EHR

Blue Mountain Hospital, an 11-bed hospital in Blanding, Utah, plans to implement a new electronic health record designed to automate operations and improve quality of care.

With the strong commitment from our healthcare providers and Medsphere’s support, we are excited to offer our patients high-quality healthcare by using the latest health technology available.”

The OpenVista electronic health record, by Carlsbad, Calif.-based Medsphere, will be implemented over the next three months. Its open source features allow the EHR to be customized to the needs of Blue Mountain Hospital, which serves the Four Corners region of Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico.

With OpenVista, the hospital will also be able to upload other programs and applications that can easily interface with the new EHR, including InsightCS and Stockell's Revenue Cycle Information System.
