Sutter Physician Services, CloudMedx to apply artificial intelligence to patient care
Sutter Physician Services has partnered with CloudMedx to help healthcare organizations share data in real time to support patient care.
CloudMedx’s Clinical AI platform aggregates and analyzes health data to provide clinical insights and tracks patients throughout their experience with a healthcare provider to help create insights around clinical risk to help enable opportunities to reach and aid patients for the purpose of improving their health, the vendor said. SPS operates a 24/7 healthcare contact center through which patients can interact with nurses regarding their health issues, the vendor explained.

CloudMedx applies artificial intelligence to health data from disparate sources to generate insights that are available to both the patient and provider organizations, the vendor said. Data points include heredity, prior or current health conditions, biometrics, health monitoring devices, and medical procedures all used to create a patient risk score. Should a health concern arise, SPS offers patients clinical and non-clinical outreach services to collaboratively assess a situation; telephone nursing services include nurse advice, care management, disease management, health coaching and other means for maintaining health.
By partnering, the organizations hope to better serve the growing needs of health systems, provider groups and healthcare professionals working on value-based care for patients.
“As the healthcare industry transitions to value-based care and risk-based reimbursement models, provider and payer organizations are looking for solutions to help identify patients with chronic health conditions within their populations and actively manage their care,” said John Bennett, chief of business development at Sutter Physician Services.
