OptumInsight to unveil analytics-as-a-service at HIMSS17
OptumInsight is gearing up to show what will be a new analytics-as-a-service offering this year at HIMSS17 with a focus on the post-reform environment and the quickening pace of value-based care.
"We’re taking our analytics and wrappering that with new capabilities and services," OptumInsight CEO Bill Miller said. "We’ll give clients a modern platform for managing value and risk analytics."
OptumInsight’s new analytics-as-a-service offering combines a range of technologies with consulting, such that customers are not just buying a product but instead purchasing a result or an outcome by tapping analytics to solve problems, Miller said.
"It’s a combination of new technology and improvements and innovations in our platforms, but it will also mean coupling those with consultants and data scientists," Miller added.
The new service will enable OptumInsight customers to conduct population health stratification, move toward precision medicine and implement value-based and emerging payment models.
"We may actually go in at-risk more with clients than we have in the past for a long-term service wherein we become their primary analytical function, be the compass to help them understand patients at risk and the opportunities," Miller said.
OptumInsight is also working to partners with other companies as a way to fill in the analytics-as-a-service quiver.
"There may be some partnerships, technology kinds of relationships," Miller said. "I can’t reveal those yet."
HIMSS17 runs from Feb. 19-23, 2017 at the Orange County Convention Center.
