With new data aggregation system, OCHIN offers real-time analytics
OCHIN, the multi-state information network serving 170 health organizations and more than 10,000 clinicians, has launched Acuere, a real-time data aggregation system meant to help drive clinical improvements and operational efficiencies.
Incorporating clinical, claims and social determinant information on more than 10 million patients, OCHIN officials say Acuere's real-time data will help providers set benchmarks and make better-informed decisions.
The platform integrates with electronic health records and claims systems, offering users the opportunity to drill down into data, simplifying population health management and care coordination.

Compiling data from EHRs other IT systems, Acuere offers customizable dashboards and analytics tools to help health organizations track their performance. Pilot customers are already seeing better health outcomes, they say.
"Through the use of Acuere, two of our satellite clinics have achieved better blood pressure control than our organization as a whole: Detroit Shoreway is at 84 percent and The Centers Rocky River is at 90 percent, while our community health centers are at 77 percent overall," said Marianella Napolitano, vice president of performance improvement at Cleveland-based Neighborhood Family Practice, in a statement.
"Being able to share the data at the provider, site and organization level creates an environment of healthy competition resulting in better documentation practices and sharing of ideas to improve performance," she added.
"Acuere improves patient care by providing real-time updates with an intuitive interface for practitioners," said OCHIN's chief executive officer, Abby Sears. "Most importantly, Acuere integrates seamlessly with any EHR or claims system to simplify population health for our vast network of customers and their patients."
