Epic takes back 'Best in KLAS' title
Last year, athenahealth toppled long-favored Epic from its No. 1 spot on the 2013 Best in KLAS list. This year is a different story, with Epic tops in two of three overall categories: Overall Physician Practice Vendor and Overall Software Suite.

The 2014 Best in KLAS report, published today, ranks healthcare vendors and their solutions by scores from the professionals who use them – healthcare providers.
New segments in this report include Population Health, Urgent Care, Alarm Management and CDI Services.
The KLAS report also highlights shifts in product performance, upcoming products and services to watch, and the continual efforts vendors are making to produce quality options.
Also today, KLAS published the inaugural edition of the Global Best in KLAS report.
The separate report ranks vendor and product performance outside the United States in the following segments: Electronic Medical Record, Patient Administration System and Picture Archiving and Communication System.
"We are honored to be able to continue to work with talented healthcare providers to create the annual Best in KLAS report. Their feedback is beneficial as vendors strive for excellence," said Adam Gale, CEO and president of KLAS Research, in a news release announcing the winners.
"We also look forward to expanding our global research initiative to evaluate additional products and services that impact both provider and vendor success," he said.
