Health IT giant Epic, which has the lion's share of EHR installations across the country, is also about to grow its office space – again.

According to local reports, Epic plans to add five new buildings and a garage to its campus. Each of the buildings will be designed with a literary theme. The plans were up initial review at the Verona Plan Commission's meeting on Jan. 5. The office buildings, which would accomodate 1,500 software developers each, would expand the campus by 100,000 square feet.

ConnectVerona.com reported the commission spent about five minutes on the proposed project, which would be Epic's fifth campus expansion. Its fourth  is still under way according to news reports.

Tentative designs pay tribute to books such as Alice in Wonderland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Wizard of Oz, according to reports.

At its farm campus, built earlier, Epic celebrates its rural Wisconsin roots - bringing parts of the outside – with the use of photos of farm animals and astro turf. Still under construction is the Wizards Academy campus, its fourth campus and a tribute to Harry Potter.
