Black Book names leading practice EHRs
'High performing vendors have emerged from the pack.'
It's no easy feat to be the best, even in the healthcare IT space, but one EHR vendor has come out on top, earning the highest scores for client experience and customer satisfaction in the small practice category.
According to a 2014 Black Book Rankings electronic health record system survey, the Irvine, Calif.-based Kareo Inc. came out as the winner for EHR and billing software systems. This marks the second year Kareo earned this distinction in Black Book Ratings.

"Revenue Cycle management and integrated EHR vendor loyalty among small practice EHR physician practices is on a significant upward trajectory,” said Doug Brown, Black Book's managing partne, in a May 14 press statement. The vendors' ability "to meet the evolving demands of interoperability, networking, mobile devices, accountable care, patient accessibility, customization for specialty workflow, and reimbursement are the main factors that the replacement mentality and late adoption are turning course in solo and small practices."
From the survey, vendors are ranked across 18 key performance indicators, including clinical workflow functionalists, e-Prescribing modules, ACO data needs and certification-required EHR needs.
"High performing vendors have emerged from the pack as practice implementations succeed and fail, meaningful use attestations are reviewed, and users assess their vendor’s capabilities to meet their individual practice needs, particularly managed care reimbursement and ACO billing ," added Brown.
