While there seems to be a great deal of both energy and discourse regarding the need for innovation in healthcare, the pace of care delivery model change would certainly not be characterized as hurried.

The problem, of course, with not taking definitive action now, is that delay doesn't help innovation. The passage of time may help evolve species over millennia and offer relief from disappointment and disease, but it doesn't help much today in revolutionizing care delivery model change.

As Andy Warhol, the avant garde pop art pioneer once commented: "They say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself." 

With risk-aversion, prior investments and a misaligned payment system standing in the way, how can we bring about true transformation?
